Google Finance Restyling

Publicado Dezembro 12, 2006 by Pedro Pais

Just read that Google Finance has been updated, after 6 months of “hard work” (so they say).

From my quick peek I found out that the huge differences are on the homepage and in a new way to add your Portfolio to your Google Personalized Homepage.

One thing that really is interesting is their Top Movers list by popularity. We can see how the stocks of the top queried companies are performing. As soon as I have some time free I’d really like to test if there’s any kind of strong correlation between a stock’s performance and its quote evolution.

As a side note, there’s an animation describing what they’ve been working at. Did you notice the link to the video? Not even Google bloggers post videos on Google Video. I know they bought YouTube, but if they don’t use Google Video then it’s only a matter of time no one uses it.

Google Finance is hands down the best financial web based site on the internet. I was using Yahoo for a long time until they finally came along.

I’ll have to delve into the new features this week.

listikal, to be honest I still find Excel to be the best way possible to manage your finances.

You can combine stocks, mutual funds, savings accounts and anything you want.

In my previous blog I wrote an article on how to keep Excel updated with the current quote.

Sweet…I’ll have to check it out.
