Visual Pagerank

Pagerank (PR) is an indicator that Google uses in order to calculate a site’s importance in its index (PR is quite unknown to the World, this posts reflects some of the common assumptions).
You can know a site’s PR using Google Toolbar or any of the many available online PR checkers available online (e.g. Google PageRank Checker).
Most recently a Visual Pagerank View has been developed, apparently by iWebTool. It’s quite amazing, because it shows the PR of every link in a given page. I think it’s worth to take a look at. By the way, I found this site through a David Lithman‘s post named Pagerank Update.

Meu site tem pagerank 2, e alguns de meus concorrentes tem pagerank 3, e estão abaixo de mim no Google. Como isso acontece?? o Pagerank entao não é o único olhado pelo Google ???

De facto o PageRank é apenas um dos critérios que o Google utiliza para calcular a posição de um dado site para uma dada query de pesquisa.
Aliás, eu diria que poucos no Mundo conhecerão em pormenor todos os critérios utilizados pelo Google. Mas muitos saberão uma parte.
Uma hipótese é o Google, por meio de algoritmos avançados, entender que os conteúdos do seu site são melhores…
